Buyer in Lindon, Utah at FORTEM TECHNOLOGIES INC

Reporting to the Supply Chain & Operations Manager, the Buyer will be responsible for supporting the organization’s supply chain needs and ensuring that goods and services required for production are purchased and received in a timely manner. This position will also facilitate the purchase and delivery of internal purchase requisitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review MRP messages to determine material requirements for customer orders or forecasted demand
• Send RFQs to prequalified suppliers based on material requirements
• Review supplier quotes and recommend the best option for purchase
• Create and execute purchase orders with suppliers
• Review payment requirements with accounting and help facilitate prepayments as needed
• Follow-up with suppliers to ensure materials are received according to promised date
• Assist with onboarding new suppliers as requested
• Support the Engineering Team with new product development for sourcing and delivery of prototype materials
• Help with maintaining accurate inventory counts
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of Fortem Technologies, Inc.

Required Skills/Experience

• This is a 100% on-site role and US Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Management or a related field. Commensurate experience will be considered.
• Professional Work Experience: minimum of 1-year direct experience in a Buyer or similar role.
• Excellent computer skills using the Microsoft Office Suite tools
• Knowledge of how MRP works and ability to navigate in ERP system (Odoo or Global Shop experience a plus)
