Typical Schedule: This position is full time during the academic year, Sunday through Thursday.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Library Services, the Circulation Services Lead provides front-line support to students and faculty at McKenna Library. The position also coordinates staff coverage and provides functional leadership for circulation operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support service-desk operations across multiple interconnected library systems, including inventory and circulation functions in Folio, interlibrary loan in Tipasa, delivery services through InfoExpress, and library discovery through FiNDIt. Coordinate day-to-day follow-up on workflow issues.
- Develop and maintain the service-desk schedule for staff and student coverage.
- Provide cross-training for service-desk functions and maintain related documentation.
- Coordinate continuity across shifts by ensuring relevant service information is communicated.
- Coordinate with other libraries and service partners to resolve circulation, courier, and mail issues.
- Serve as the designated adult staff member responsible for library operations during assigned hours when the Director is not present.
- Maintain a visible, welcoming service-desk presence and help students and faculty navigate the library catalog, collections, and reserve materials.
- Perform other duties related to library operations assigned by the Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least one year of experience in library services required; experience in access services, including circulation or related functions, preferred.
- Familiarity with scholarly information sources and commonly used citation styles to support undergraduate students at the service desk, preferred.
- Ability to provide courteous, tactful, and nonjudgmental service with strong communication skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt to library systems, databases, and technology.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, work independently, and stay organized.
