Beacon Press Internships for People of Color: Print and Audiobook Production Internship Spring 27
The Beacon Press Internships for People of Color program seeks to increase diversity and inclusiveness in the book publishing industry. Beacon Press Production Department seeks a candidate with a multimedia background who desires firsthand experience working in book and audio production. We offer a competitive hourly wage of $20 an hour. Interns are expected to work for 10–14 weeks, with a 12–14 hour-per-week commitment and a flexible schedule. It is required that interns be available to work in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays for various meetings. This is not a hybrid position.
The intern will work closely with the Beacon Production and Audio team; This internship provides an opportunity to learn about the book production process from the copyediting, design, and typesetting stages to the bound book. Duties include proofreading (including but not limited to page proofs, marketing pieces, and e-books), filing, reviewing copyedits, data entry, preparing packages for vendors, assisting with the digital archive, and other special projects. Audiobook duties will include attending webinars, listening to auditions, and preparing audio files for use by our marketing department.
We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, an attention to detail, and a love for books in all formats.
