Job Description

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Lead Remote, $80k-$120k/yr inc

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Lead — Remote, $80k-$120k/yr incl. based in United States.

This is a high-impact growth role focused on building and operating a world-class experimentation engine across a high-volume consumer funnel.
You will own the day-to-day CRO program across landing pages, intake flows, checkout, and other critical conversion points.
Your work will directly influence paid efficiency, customer acquisition economics, and the ability to scale across multiple markets.
The role is highly hands-on, combining hypothesis generation, experiment setup, rigorous QA, statistical analysis, and clear reporting.
You will coordinate closely with Growth Engineers and Designers to keep a high-volume testing pipeline moving without bottlenecks.
Working fully remotely, you will have significant autonomy while collaborating across European and US time zones when needed.
This is an opportunity to make measurable improvements at speed and potentially grow into broader senior responsibilities within the performance organization.

Accountabilities
  • Own and continuously prioritize the CRO experimentation roadmap, turning analytics, session data, research, and paid-performance signals into high-quality, impact-driven hypotheses.
  • Structure and launch experiments with clear hypotheses, primary metrics, sample-size considerations, success criteria, and appropriate guardrails.
  • Manage end-to-end experimentation, from ideation and setup through QA, launch, analysis, and final readout.
  • Perform rigorous QA across devices, browsers, variants, and edge cases to ensure experiments are functional, compliant, on-brand, and protected against funnel regressions.
  • Analyze experiment results using statistical rigor, evaluating significance, confidence, segment effects, and behavioral patterns to determine whether tests win, lose, or require further investigation.
  • Produce concise and actionable experiment readouts that allow stakeholders to understand findings and make decisions without extensive follow-up.
  • Coordinate Growth Engineers and Designers, unblock experiment development, maintain momentum, and ensure multiple initiatives progress simultaneously.
  • Maintain a reliable weekly reporting cadence covering what shipped, what performed, key learnings, and upcoming priorities.
  • Use CRO and analytics tools such as Omniconvert, PostHog, HEX, and other relevant testing platforms while remaining adaptable to new technologies.
  • Connect CRO insights with paid acquisition performance, understanding the relationship between advertising, landing-page experience, customer acquisition cost, and conversion.
  • Support experimentation across different markets and geographies, adapting approaches to local customer behavior and market requirements.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve experimentation velocity, quality, learning, and overall funnel performance.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4+ years of hands-on CRO experience, ideally running hundreds of experiments for direct-to-consumer e-commerce businesses operating at high transaction volumes.
  • Experimentation ownership: Demonstrated experience managing multiple tests simultaneously while maintaining a structured, prioritized roadmap and consistent delivery cadence.
  • Hands-on expertise: Proven ability to own the complete experimentation lifecycle rather than simply managing an external agency or delegating execution to a team.
  • Funnel expertise: Strong understanding of the relationship between paid acquisition, ad-to-landing-page handoffs, landing-page experience, conversion, CAC, and customer quality.
  • Analytical mindset: Highly comfortable working with data, identifying behavioral patterns, analyzing segments, and looking beyond top-line metrics to understand why results occur.
  • Structured execution: Strong planning, prioritization, documentation, and reporting skills, with the ability to turn complex findings into immediately actionable insights.
  • Autonomy: High ownership, resilience, and comfort operating independently in a fast-moving, demanding environment where speed and outcomes matter.
  • Statistical knowledge: Familiarity with experimentation statistics, including significance, statistical power, sequential testing, and methods for avoiding false-positive conclusions, is a strong advantage.
  • Research skills: Experience using qualitative and quantitative research methods such as heatmaps, session recordings, surveys, and user testing to generate new hypotheses is beneficial.
  • Regulated-industry experience: Experience running CRO programs in regulated industries, where compliance influences messaging and experimentation, is a plus.
  • Technical understanding: Ability to understand how websites, analytics, and data systems work and translate CRO ideas into precise, buildable requirements for technical and design teams.
  • Localization: Experience running experiments across multiple countries or markets, particularly across the UK and EU, is advantageous.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make insights clear, concise, and actionable.
  • Cultural fit: Strong commitment to integrity, candor, high standards, urgency, resourcefulness, focus, and continuous improvement.
Benefits
  • Compensation: $80,000–$120,000 per year, including equity.
  • Equity: Early-stage equity participation with the potential for significant upside as the organization grows.
  • Remote work: Fully distributed, remote-first working environment.
  • Flexible schedule: Work asynchronously in the time zone of your choice, with sufficient overlap with European and US time zones when collaboration requires it.
  • Healthcare: Comprehensive medical insurance, where applicable.
  • Personal development: Budget available for books, courses, coaching, and other professional development resources.
  • Wellness: Dedicated budget for gym memberships, health applications, and personal wellness initiatives.
  • Health support: Access to a clinic membership offering GLP-1 treatments, where appropriate.
  • Health coaching: Free biweekly health coaching focused on maintaining sustainable personal wellbeing.
  • Work coaching: Free biweekly coaching designed to support professional performance, focus, and resilience.
  • Equipment: MacBook and work-from-home equipment provided as needed.
  • Growth opportunity: Potential to progress into broader or more senior roles within the performance and growth organization.
  • Culture: Opportunity to contribute to an early-stage environment and help shape its evolving culture and ways of working.
