Job Description

Manager, Sales Development

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Sales Development based in United States.

This is a high-impact sales leadership opportunity focused on building and scaling a modern outbound sales function. You will lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Development Representatives while establishing the structure and discipline needed for consistent pipeline generation. The role combines hands-on team leadership with data-driven strategy, requiring you to translate funnel metrics into actionable business decisions. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Enablement teams to refine targeting, campaigns, processes, and performance. You will also have the opportunity to experiment with new outbound approaches and tools, scaling what works across the organization. This role is well suited to an entrepreneurial sales leader who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys building high-performing teams from the ground up.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the SDR team, creating a culture of accountability, resilience, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Recruit and onboard SDR talent while establishing structured development and career paths that prepare high-performing representatives for future Account Executive opportunities.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide timely, actionable coaching on prospecting activity, calls, messaging, campaigns, and overall execution.
  • Establish and manage core funnel metrics across activity, meetings, demos, and bookings, ensuring performance is accurately tracked and consistently reported.
  • Analyze sales development data to identify performance gaps, trends, and opportunities, translating insights into practical recommendations for Sales, Marketing, and Operations leadership.
  • Partner with Account Executive leadership to align SDR activity with pipeline requirements, business priorities, ideal customer profiles, and outbound strategy.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to execute outbound campaigns and provide structured, data-driven feedback to improve targeting and campaign effectiveness.
  • Work with Sales Operations to develop unified dashboards, maintain data quality, and establish consistent KPI definitions and reporting practices.
  • Pilot new outbound cadences, campaigns, technologies, and prospecting approaches, measuring results and scaling successful strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of outbound best practices and share successful approaches and learnings across the broader sales organization.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience managing or leading an SDR/BDR team or function, preferably within a SaaS environment.
  • Proven experience building, scaling, or significantly improving an SDR organization rather than simply maintaining an established function.
  • Strong knowledge of outbound prospecting, ideal customer profile alignment, pipeline generation, sales development methodologies, and funnel management.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze sales performance data and turn metrics into clear, actionable recommendations and business decisions.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Outreach, and other sales engagement, enablement, or productivity platforms.
  • Strong coaching and people-development capabilities, including experience helping early-career sales professionals progress toward Account Executive roles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Enablement, and senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to establish structure, processes, and accountability in an evolving environment.
  • Entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to operate effectively amid change, ambiguity, and rapid growth.
  • Comfortable testing new strategies, interpreting results, and adapting outbound programs based on evidence and performance.
  • Ability to balance hands-on tactical leadership with broader strategic thinking and organizational impact.
Benefits:
  • Salary: $113,500–$129,500 USD for the Zone 1 (National Average) pay band; compensation may vary based on geographic zone, experience, qualifications, and role requirements.
  • Eligible employees may receive variable compensation in addition to base salary.
  • Healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan and company-supported retirement benefits.
  • Wellness: Access to fitness and wellness resources, including Gympass.
  • Mental health and support: Employee Assistance Program and resources supporting mental and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work-from-home support: Discounts and resources for home office equipment.
  • Paid time off: Paid holidays and vacation.
  • Career development: Opportunities to grow professionally within a scaling organization.
  • Inclusive environment: Collaborative, entrepreneurial culture focused on teamwork, customer impact, and continuous improvement.
  • Compensation and benefits are designed to be competitive and may vary according to the employee's geographic zone.
