Clinical Therapist in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at Forrest General Hospital

Job Summary:

Provides therapy services. Participates in treatment team meetings and functions as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Participates in formulation of treatment and after care plan. Provides community education services as needed. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.

Performance Expectation:

• Demonstrate the ability to provide services including individual, group, and family therapy based on a theoretical and ethical framework (i.e., Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy) to patients across multiple developmental stages and within an acute care setting.
• Demonstrate the ability to complete a clinical interview and review information with patients and family members.
• Demonstrate the ability to collaborate clinically with staff within various roles.
• Demonstrate the willingness and ability to actively participate in helping achieve the objectives of the department; able to work independently as well as with a team.
• Demonstrated the ability to complete all required training and/or certifications and attend all required meetings.
• Demonstrate the ability to be flexible with changing priorities; able to tolerate high stress situations/mental demands and make decisions that are ethically and legally sound.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills:

A master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or marriage and family therapy from an accredited school is required.

Work Experience:

At least one year of experience in the mental health field is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

• Licensed to practice in MS as indicated by educational specialty (LPC, P-LPC, LMFT, LMFT-A, LMSW, LCSW).
