Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Part-time/PRN Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our Pain Management ASC team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures across a variety of specialties, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. Your expertise will support a seamless perioperative experience by collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery by conducting thorough assessments, verifying medical histories, medication reconcilliation, and ensuring informed consent is obtained.
- Assist in the setup and management of sterile fields, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic technique throughout all procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses before, during, and after surgery, responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.
- Administer medications and IV infusions as prescribed, including anesthesia support and pain management interventions.
- Document all nursing activities accurately in electronic health record (EHR) system, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care for patients undergoing a variety of pain management procedures such as Injections, stimulator and pump implants, and nerve ablations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and infection control protocols to enhance patient safety.
Valid RN license with current registration without restrictions; additional certifications such as
BLS (Basic Life Support) on hire and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) within 30 days of hire,
- Ability to work effectively within EMR/EHR systems (SIS Complete)
- PreOp/PACU/IntraOperative experience preferred
- Excellent assessment skills combined with the ability to respond swiftly during emergencies involving airway management or ventilator support.
