Essential Functions
The 8th Grade Content Teacher- Math/ Science will create a warm and welcoming school culture that is driven by student achievement, growth, and commitment to students in an urban environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement Universal’s curriculum and instructional strategies and utilize classroom routines and procedures with consistency.
- Develop rigorous lesson plans, homework assignments, and assessments in accordance with established procedures.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
- Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data and use data to inform instruction.
- Collaborate in grade-level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student mastery of standards.
- Form and maintain relationships with students’ families, including phone calls and conferences.
- Participate in ongoing professional development in the spirit of continuous improvement.
- Perform related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Valid PA Certification
Bachelor’s degree

- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
