Job Description
Position: Outside / Facility Maintenance
Classification: Key / Non-Exempt
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Position Summary:
The Facility Maintenance Staff oversees the maintenance of the entire Casino grounds. They will perform water testing, preventative maintenance and repairs. Maintain entrance road and grounds around the casino which includes snow and ice removal. Complies with relevant federal regulations, tribal and state compact agreements as well as Blackbird Bend Casino Personnel Policies. This position requires that the employee be able to work weekends and holidays.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Repair water leaks due to plumbing or condensation problems.
Repair Light bulbs
Preventative Maintenance on air condition/furnace filters
Assist customers with minor car problems to include jumps and air to tires.
Keep grounds mowed and snow/ice removed
Miscellaneous minor construction projects as needed to repair for promotions.
Knowledge of electricity and plumbing helpful
Be able to work in a noisy environment and withstand extreme heat and cold temperature changes.
Be able to use various electrical tools.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a High School Diploma or be pursuing a GED
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be at least 18 years of age or older upon employment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills and Certifications
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to adapt to changing work priorities; developing effective working relationships; displaying mechanical aptitude; working under time constraints; and complying with OSHA regulations.
Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in skilled trades, power and hand tools, etc.; adhering to safety practices; handling hazardous materials; and planning and managing projects.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
