Job Description
Ink Dispense Center Assistant – Morgantown, PA
Hourly: Grade Level 6
FLSA Status: Hourly
Department: IDC– Morgantown PA
Reports To: Team Leader IDC – Craig Englehart
Shift: 3rd
Responsible for:
The IDC Assistant must assist the IDC Operator in maintaining all needs and functions of the IDC Department during his shift and to support and supply the presses and production process with all materials needed. The IDC Assistant must work closely with his IDC Operator and team members to assist them in their completion of their duties and responsibilities in a safe, efficient and effective manner throughout the shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in Pre-matching all running inks to the master standard or last run standard supplied from the production packets
- Assist in Color-matching all press support totes to the press sample provided.
- Supply all production run needs, (totes, coatings, materials) to presses prior to production set-up start.
- Maintain ink dispense material volumes under each dispense pump and agitating adequately.
- Maintain all solvent and hit drums/buckets for presses.
- Assist in maintaining pump calibrations on a routine basis.
- Retrieve and return raw materials and residue ink from ink inventory and update the computer inventory system accurately.
- Complete production turnovers. o tote weighing, emptying, and cleaning o residue coding and location o master proofs from press production samples for next run o topcoat neutralization o raw material inventory return
- Maintain housekeeping in the department including tools, machinery, drums, equipment, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist Departmental and Production Management in all needs in and outside of the department as well to ensure the completion of the entire production process in the plant.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to work overtime as required
- Strong communication skills
- Proven commitment to safety
- Comfort with working at heights
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office software (i.e., Excel, Word, and Power Point)
- Ability to read and understand manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams
- Attention to detail and excellent follow up skills
- Must be self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- High attention to detail
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Physical demands:
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs.
- Must be able to differentiate colors to match ink colors.
- Flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, and kneel repetitively during shift.
- Ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for a shift.
- Ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for a shift.
- Ability to walk extensively throughout the plant for a shift.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety glasses with side shields
- Goggles and face shields for work with chemicals that may splash.
- Gloves (appropriate for the hazard of the specific task)
- Gloves (appropriate for the hazard of the specific task) butyl gloves for use with cleaning solvent, M-Pyrol, isobutyl acetate and ethyl acetate or other solvents
- Ear protection (caps, plugs, or muffs as per employee preference) pressroom use.
- Respirators for organic vapors.
- Grounding straps for all solvent or liquid containers
- Safety shoes

3rd Shift = Monday - Thursday 6:00PM - 6:00AM
Must train on 1st shift - up to 90 days 6:00AM-6:00PM
