Job Description/Summary

The Director of Adult Outpatient interfaces with administration, prescribers, therapists, support staff, and interns to maximize productivity, ensure appropriate staffing, and share clinical expertise. This dynamic leader seeks opportunities to maximize reimbursement and drive program growth.

The Director of Adult Outpatient creates a culture of clinical excellence and superior customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensures program adherence to the six key principles of trauma informed care: safety, trustworthiness and transparency, peer support, collaboration and mutuality, empowerment, voice, choice and cultural, historical and gender issues.

• Identifies key performance indicators and works with Compliance and Data Reporting to track progress and outcomes.

• Monitors treatment protocols and updates workflows to consistently improve the quality of services delivered. Updates policies and procedures accordingly.

• Collaborates with human resources and finance to consistently expand the clinical team by updating recruitment strategies to attract highly skilled talent.

• Reviews clinical documentation regularly to assess for content that supports medical necessity for treatment and provides training to therapists accordingly.

• Provides direct weekly supervision for provisionally licensed clinicians in accordance with licensing bodies.

• Responds to client concerns promptly while representing PBHG with the utmost professionalism, contributing to the enhancement and upkeep of a positive reputation within the community.

• Represents PBHG at community organizations and county and state meetings, such as county Systems Review Committee and NJAMHAA.

• Manages Support Staff Team including Access Coordinators, Clinical Care Coordinators, and Systems Coordinator to monitor clinical productivity and remove barriers to excellent client care.

• Collaborates with Medical Director to address Medical Team needs and update procedures to optimize efficiency.

• Evaluates job performance annually for all adult outpatient staff.

• Oversees crisis intervention and appropriate follow-up, as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree or higher in social work, counseling, or psychology.

Licensure: Clinical licensure (LCSW, LPC, Clinical Psychology) and supervision certificate/credential (NASW, CCS, ACS).

Experience: Clinical experience with adults (minimum of 5 years), Minimum of 5 year’s leadership experience in a fee-for-service or similar setting. Experience in a for-profit behavioral health setting appreciated.

Competencies:

• Demonstrates knowledge in behavioral health outpatient levels of care, regulations and standards of client care.

• Knowledge of operations and billing strongly desired.

• Knowledge of evidenced based practices, crisis management, and community resources.

• Exhibits an attitude of cultural humility.

• Demonstrates ability to navigate Microsoft Office and the electronic record as required by job function.

• Performs job responsibility with a minimum of supervision.
