Job Description
Description:
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Wholesale Parts Specialist to join our fast-paced automotive parts department. In this role, you aren’t just taking orders—you are a critical partner to local independent repair shops and collision centers.
The ideal candidate has a sharp technical mind for specifying parts accurately the first time, a professional phone presence, and the sales drive to build lasting commercial relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Account Management: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with wholesale clients (independent repair shops, fleets, and collision centers) to drive repeat business.
- Precision Specifying: Accurately identify and specify automotive parts using Electronic Parts Catalogs (EPC) to ensure the correct parts are delivered on the first attempt, keeping return rates low.
- Order Processing: Efficiently process high-volume phone, email, and online parts orders, converting inquiries into completed sales.
- Resourceful Sourcing: Source parts quickly from various vendors and manufacturer networks when items are backordered or out of stock.
- Logistics & Paperwork: Prepare precise invoices, manage credit returns, and coordinate with delivery drivers to ensure parts arrive at customer shops on schedule.
- Department Collaboration: Maintain a clean, organized workstation and collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure inventory accuracy.
Requirements
- Automotive Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in automotive retail or wholesale parts sales (dealership or major jobber experience is highly preferred).
- Catalog Mastery: Strong proficiency with computer systems, DMS (Dealer Management Systems), and electronic parts catalog software.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of automotive systems, components, and terminology to confidently assist technicians and shop owners.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, solution-oriented phone presence.
- Efficiency: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Credentials: Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean, insurable driving record.
- Screening: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Benefits & Perks
- Competitive Compensation: Base pay plus performance/commission opportunities.
- Comprehensive Health: Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- Paid Time Off: Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
- Retirement Security: 401(k) program.
- Growth: Professional work environment with clear opportunities for career advancement.
