About This Position

Purpose:

The primary focus of this position will be to develop, implement, and lead recruitment efforts to enroll domestic and international transfer students from two and four-year colleges and universities to Knox College. This position will also oversee the transition activities and strategies for all new incoming students as they matriculate to Knox. This position will engage in a full range of admission, recruitment, outreach, and on-boarding activities within the admission office. This is a key public-facing, revenue-generating position with measurable metrics for the recruitment and enrollment of new Knox students and may be performed either on campus, fully-remote, or in a hybrid manner.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, manage, and implement a program for the recruitment of domestic and international transfer students, including marketing and engagement communications, on- and off-campus events, relationship-building with key community colleges, and transfer credit evaluation and advising.

2. Engage with prospective transfer students and their parents via phone, text, email, video, and in-person to achieve a high level of interaction and build sustained relationships through the college search.

3. Work alongside a direct supervisor to achieve application and enrollment goals for the transfer student population.

4. Represent Knox at college fairs, attending college fairs, hosting information sessions, meeting with school counselors, community based organization advisors, and independent educational consultants, and conducting admission interviews for prospective students; work evenings and weekends as needed for events and to engage with students and parents. Hours can be long, and varied. This position often entails working evenings and weekends a minimum of 10-15% of the time.

5. Lead transfer partnerships and articulation agreements with collaboration from the Assistant Vice President of Admissions.

6. Assist students in assessing match/fit and how Knox could help to achieve their educational goals.

7. Represent Knox College and its programs to prospective students, their families, community college counselors and professors through on and off campus visits, phone calling and special events.

8. He/She will be responsible for being proactive in developing relationships that lead to successful recruitment of students wishing to transfer to Knox College.

9. Extensive travel in the fall and spring with some weekends required.

10. Make in-person and virtual presentations about Knox, conduct interviews, represent Knox at college fairs, information sessions, and other events.

11. Review applications for admission.

12. Serve as the admissions liaison with various Knox departments to assist with transitional communications, activities, and tasks to support the matriculation of all new students.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

● Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and public speaking abilities; and talent for developing relationships with a variety of constituencies

● Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

● Ability to plan and execute compelling on- and off-campus events for prospective students and counselors, advisors, and consultants

● Experience with and passion for creating virtual engagement, social media, video, digital communications, and online events

Minimum Education Required:

● Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Experience Required:

● At least 3-5 years of professional experience. Title and compensation will commensurate with experience.

Minimum Licenses/Certifications Required:

● Driver’s License Required

Additional Qualifications: (Preferred qualifications)

● Master’s degree

● Previous experience in college admission, education, educational advising or consulting

● Ability to engage in overnight travel via car, train, and/or plane

● Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends

Summary Pay Range: Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that pay is only one component of total compensation.
