Registered nurses are qualified and educated for the role of care coordination, especially with high risk and vulnerable populations (ANA Code of Ethics with Interpretive Statements, 11/2010).

The RN has a responsibility to act as educator to their peers, patients, and their families. All aspects of the RN's performance supports service excellence and a healing environment.
