Surgical Tech at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley – Sun Valley, California

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Assists in Surgery as a scrub assistant and operations surgical equipment
• Determines appropriate equipment and supplies needed in surgery according to nursing protocol
• Prepares, maintains, cleans and checks equipment for proper and safe functioning prior to use
• Assists in transporting, positioning, prepping and draping patients for surgery
• Cleans, sorts and sterilizes instruments and prepares instrument packs

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of a Surgical Technician program with eligibility to sit for Board Certification Exam
• Must have Board Certification within nine (9) months of hire
• Current BLS
• Two (2) years Surgical Technician experience in an acute care or surgery center environment
• Experience in multiple specialties including Orthopedics, GYN, General Surgery, Plastics and GI Lab
• Ability to exercise professional judgement in performing day-to-day activities, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
