Position Purpose: Under supervision, accurately and timely processes and pays invoices and checking requests of vendors and employees. Serves as a technical point-of-contact and is responsible for the recommending payments to be made and filing of paid invoices on a weekly basis.

Essential Functions:
  • Processes Accounts Payable invoices and check requests for payment by entering them into the Meditech Accounts Payable module.
  • Reviews invoices and check requests for mathematical accuracy, proper authorization, sufficient documentation and appropriated cost center and sub-account.
  • Ability to process Accounts Payable timely by Friday each week.
  • Maintains the Accounts Payable System and related files and records.
  • Routinely reconciles vendor statements to the Accounts Payable System for accuracy and completeness.
  • Annually runs 1099s and validated them with system vendors for accuracy.
  • Produces requested information for the auditors, external consultants and hospital staff as needed.
  • Performs other related Accounts Payable functions and duties as required.

Marginal Functions:

  • Performs both essential and marginal job functions safely as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital’s confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.
  • Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
  • Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings or committees and online training courses as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Accounts Payable experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication required
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization required
  • Working knowledge of Meditech or similar Accounts Payable System required
  • At least 3 or more years of hospital Accounts Payable experience required
  • Previous experience with Accounts Payable processing, reporting, and auditing required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required
  • Good filing skills and detail-oriented required
