About This Position
The Robotics and FLL Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and coordinating a robotics program at The BGCFL Clubhouse. Robotics enables youth to learn about engineering, manufacturing and technology and have the opportunity to compete.
This position will work closely with all members of the STEAM team in order to coordinate, design curriculum, and organize students to develop a comprehensive Robotics program. They will be responsible for student engagement and FIRST competition.
The successful candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic about programming and engineering and design, will keep students active and motivated in their projects, support positive social emotional learning and will be a good communicator.

Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelors Degree and/or applicable experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) job field
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young people in a positive manner using restorative, not punitive practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to build community partnerships.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and assessing curriculum with students
- Proficient in block based coding would be preferred
- Perform all additional duties and tasks assigned by leadership/supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Love for robotics! Candidate will be playing a Lead robotics coach role. Able to recruit for the team.
- Organized with the ability to multi-task
- Class room training and management
- First Lego League or competitive robotics experience preferred
- Have flexibility, excellent work ethic and be dependable with reliable transportation
- Enjoy working with Teens and Youth ages 8-18
- Mechanical. Building the field elements
- Ability to lead/guide the team in assembling the robot
- Understanding manufacturing principles-Electrical
- Understanding how to wire the bot together
- Understanding what Coding is (how and to Code) Design and Solidwork
- Understand how to design and prototype
- Manage a budget and First Choice vouchers
- Mechanical inclination/vocational background, with desire to learn more Machining, Electrical &carpentry
- Able to manage 2 programs at separate times, FRC and FLL.
Responsibilities:
- Advise and mentor students in local, regional, and state level First Robotics competitions
- Develop partnerships with local businesses to assist with sponsoring and mentoring the team
- Assist with future grant writing in conjunction with the Leadership Team/Resource Development
- Collaborate with a diverse array of community stakeholders, students, staff, and business leaders
- Promote and recruit a BGCFL Robotics Team annually
- Attend all training sessions, schedule work and practice sessions, coach students at all competitions
- Organize transportation for students to competition
- Ability to mentor and support school aged students in a fun yet competitive co-curricular activity
- Pass background checks as required by the First Robotics program and BGCFL
- Highly effective communication and organizational skills
- Organize fundraisers if necessary
- Able to navigate First inspires, (the First website)
- Assess team needs and solve for discrepancies
