Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product management and ML teams to integrate AI-driven firmware solutions into customer applications.
  • Work closely with customers to gather feedback on the AI product and ensure that it addresses real-world firmware engineering challenges.
  • Partner with ML engineers to create robust AI models that generate high-quality firmware solutions.
  • Support the data team by gathering large-scale firmware data for training AI models.
  • Evaluate and validate AI-generated firmware to ensure it meets industry standards and product requirements.
  • Hire, mentor, and lead a team of firmware engineers to support ongoing AI model development.

Required Skill Sets:
  • Deep knowledge of embedded firmware development in C/C++, with experience in real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Experience in developing firmware for semiconductors, microcontrollers, ECUs, robotics, vehicles, HPC, real-time controls, system, or controls software, or similar hardware devices.
  • Strong understanding of firmware architecture, hardware-software co-design, and debugging.
  • Knowledge of microprocessor architecture from both ARM and RISC-V families.
  • Experience with typical microcontroller architecture and peripherals such as ADC, DAC, PWM, Timers, and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART).
  • Proficiency in debugging embedded systems using tools such as scopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both firmware engineers and machine learning experts.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of engineers.
  • Ability to collaborate with customers and translate their needs into technical solutions.

Bonus Points
  • Familiarity with data collection and processing techniques for AI model training, specifically related to firmware.
  • Experience with AI/ML model development or a willingness to learn and collaborate with ML teams to train firmware-generating models.
  • Experience with AI-driven firmware generation or similar innovative approaches.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python for automation.
