Surgical Services Attendant at Conway Medical Center – Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Position Summary: The Surgical Services Attendant (SSA) will perform a variety of duties to assist the Operating Room Department. The SSA will be responsible for cleaning Operating Rooms which includes replacing suction SP canisters and trash can liners, cleaning the O.R. Suite, Wet vacuum after each Operating Room procedure, clean equipment, and remove trash from C.P.D. decontamination area. These activities require specific cleaning and infection control protocols. The SSA will assist with additional duties that may include but are not limited to; assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretcher as requested, escorts and transports patients to other hospital departments, assist with removal of expired patients from units and transport to morgue, respond to call lights and answers telephone promptly.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma required.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Previous specific experience with hospital patient transporting preferred.
• Previous specific experience with surgical services environmental services preferred.

Special Skills:

• Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
• Strong verbal communication skills required.
