Clinic Nursing Manager
Job Summary
The Clinic Nursing Manager is responsible for overseeing the clinical functions of the primary care clinics including some specialty care and urgent care clinics. This position is responsible for the organization, standardization, and implementation of clinical policies, workflows, and functions across all primary care and urgent care settings. The role involves ensuring high-quality patient care, managing nursing staff, and coordinating with other departments to ensure operational efficiency. This position also plays a critical leadership role, providing mentorship, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The annual wage range for this position is $108,056.00—$152,547.20 based on a 1.0 FTE.
Key Accountabilities
Leadership and Management
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff leaders.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
- Ensure staffing levels are appropriate, manage schedules, and handle workforce planning.
- Support clinic leaders through the Performance Management process.
- Foster a positive work environment promoting teamwork and professional growth.
Patient Care and Quality Assurance
- Oversee patient care activities to ensure that standards of quality are met or exceeded.
- Responsible for overseeing Quality and ACO scores and measures and making improvements to exceed goals.
- Implement evidence-based practices and monitor patient outcomes.
- Upholds customer service expectations for the practice and of all aspects of nursing in the department.
- Maintain Clinic policies including annual review of Standing Orders.
- Address patient complaints and concerns and coordinate grievances and response through leading the Clinic Grievance Committee.
Operational Oversight
- Work closely with the Clinic Director and Clinic Leadership group to manage the day-to-day running of the clinic.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Staff Development and Training
- Coordinate and provide educational opportunities, ongoing training, and professional development for nursing staff.
- Ensure all nursing staff are current with certifications, licenses, and continuing education.
- Promote the adoption of new technologies and practices in nursing and patient care.
Communication and Collaboration
- Serve as liaison between clinical staff, physicians, and administrative staff.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and organizational strategy.
Compliance and Safety
- Maintain a safe and compliant environment of care.
- Lead infection control efforts and promote best practices for healthcare safety.
- Ensure that all documentation and patient records are accurately maintained and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
Provides Direct Patient Care as Needed
- Retains clinical proficiency to practice safely.
Required Qualifications
- Current unrestricted RN License with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree (BSN) or an Associate degree in Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in another field of study (Must obtain a BSN or MSN within two years of hire).
- At least two years in related leadership and healthcare experience
- Maintain valid Minnesota Driver's License and driving record that meets NH+C driving standards.
- Current BLS must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Management experience including personnel functions, budgeting, and staff supervision.
- Ability to relate to physicians and other health care professionals.
- Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks.
- Demonstrated project management abilities
