Summary of Job Purpose |
To manage and coordinate the activities and employees of the Ambulatory Surgery Unit Staff and to provide patient care according to policy, procedure and philosophy

Essential Job Responsibilities |
The following is a summary of the essential functions of this job. The employee may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.
- Recruits, interviews, hires and evaluates staff from the Ambulatory Care Unit.
- Maintains a staffing pattern and on-call schedule to meet the needs of the unit.
- Develops, reviews and/or revises department policies and procedures.
- Develops, implements, and monitors a quality assurance program.
- Prepares annual budget and analyzes data on a monthly basis.
- Utilizes in services and other educational programs to develop staff.
- Collects and reports monthly statistical data.
- Evaluates and maintains equipment and renovation needs of the unit.
- Performs nursing actions consistent with established policies and procedures when providing direct patient care.
- Serves on nursing/hospital committees.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.

Education:
Minimum two year college degree, pursing a B.S. in Nursing
Experience:
Minimum 3 years medical surgical and/or critical care background.
Training/License:
Some formal management experience/Current NYS License
Other:
Demonstrates interpersonal and organizational skills. Flexibility to be assigned to Health Alliance facilities as needed.
