Job Overview
Prominent Builders Inc is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Construction Estimator to join our Project Management team in the Greater Boston area. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects while supporting preconstruction planning and project strategy.
The ideal candidate is an experienced estimator who can manage multiple bids simultaneously, prioritize deadlines effectively, and is motivated to grow into a Preconstruction Manager role. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for Multi-Family residential construction projects
Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop complete scope coverage
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing
Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
Develop conceptual and preliminary budgets during early project phases
Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and leadership to ensure seamless handoff from preconstruction to operations
Assist in scope review, bid leveling, and contract preparation
Maintain organized estimating files and documentation
Minimum 4+ years of experience in construction estimating (Multi-Family required)
Experience estimating residential and/or commercial construction projects
Bachelors Degree preferred (Construction Management, Engineering, or related field)
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
Experience performing quantity takeoffs and managing subcontractor bid packages
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
A professional review will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws
