How You’ll Make an Impact

A CNC Machinist oversees operating the computer numerical control (CNC) machine. They produce machined parts according to established parameters and specifications. They work alongside many departments such as: Quality, Engineering, and Operations to produce high-quality products.

What you’ll be doing as a CNC Machinist:

Working a Full-time, onsite position at our Chatsworth, CA location supporting our Day Shift.Working under close supervision operate CNC mills and/or Lathe mills. Can perform below task within 60 days:Set up and run conventional machines to produce parts with exacting requirements.Select and setup cutting tools, as needed gage tool lengths.Understands basic machine languageLearns detect machining abnormalities and/or malfunctions based on tooling wear and damageResponsible for the setup of work areas, equipment and materials; keeps work area neat and tidy. Organizes such materials and equipment, data, and workflow to ensure job requirements are achieved Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using standard measuring toolsRecord measurement results on inspection recordsReplace used tools as necessaryThoroughly inspect first part runRead, interpret, and adhere to work instructions, regulations, manuals, and quality procedures.
Properly operate, maintain, and store mechanical tools and equipment required to perform the job.Report job status to the supervisor including any malfunctions, non-conformances, damaged equipment, or other obstacles to production.Support Continuous Improvement effortsFollow all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of equipment and proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

Works independently, follows instructions, can concentrate for long periods of time Works with forgings and castingsDemonstrates a good attitude toward work and arrives on time for start of shiftFollows instructions and demonstrates strong attention to detailCommunicates well verbally and in writingMechanically inclined, with good manual dexterityTeam player with a can-do attitudeHigh degree of mechanical aptitude (are you good with your hands, mechanics, building things)Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

1-2 years’ CNC experience in the manufacturing industry with knowledge of speeds and feedsProficiency with typical precision measurement tools such as dial indicators, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other common inspection tools5-Axis machining and troubleshooting experience. Experience working in a low volume, high value part environment. Ability to fabricate various parts, fixtures, and jigs using machining equipment: lathes & millsExperience with MS applications Strong skills and aptitude in math

Work Environment:

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

Employee Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long-term disability and 401(k) with up to 6% QACA company match.

The CNC Machinist Compensation range for onsite California applicants is $20/hr -$28/hr commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
