Job Description
| RESPONSIBILITIES – Job Summary |
The Field Service Technician will be responsible to assemble, install and repair Veritas SmartDoors®. Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of electrical wiring/troubleshooting, computer skills, and hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing motors would be beneficial for this position. The candidate needs to be willing to learn how to build a Veritas SmartDoor®. Must be able to communicate well, both verbally and written, for interactions with the client and for writing service repair reports. Travel will be required, up to 60%, domestically and occasionally internationally. Travel requirements may be higher and will fluctuate based upon customer needs.
| ACTIVITY – SmartDoor® Build / Harleysville Shop | Time Allocation: ~ 30% |
- Assemble, stage, set up, and test SmartDoors® at Harleysville shop.
- Crate door components for transportation according to defined SOP.
- Load crates onto trucks for delivery to job site.
- Unload trucks as product is delivered to Veritas.
- Pick-up parts from local vendors as needed.
- Unpack delivered supplies and log into inventory, as needed.
- Understand the features and benefits of all door products, and how to communicate to all levels.

- Travel to customer sites for SmartDoor® installation.
- Travel to customer sites to install finishes on installed doors.
- Represent Veritas positively and professionally at all times while traveling for Veritas.
- Provide customer service via telephone and remote sessions for initial troubleshooting and diagnostics of shielded doors.
- Travel to customer locations to provide onsite diagnostics and servicing of shielded doors. This will include accessing the area above the door for servicing.
- Travel to customer sites to provide regularly scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Travel to customer sites to provide SmartDoor® training for GC's, subcontractors, medical staff and maintenance personnel.
- Provide feedback from service visits that enables continuous improvement of the SmartDoor® product line.
- Serve as brand ambassador of Veritas; Create and develop excellent relationships with key contacts at customer locations to learn how Veritas can better serve their needs with our product, training and support.

- Attend and participate in weekly meetings.
- Support cross functional team initiatives.
- Participate in Veritas CARES events when possible.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; give and welcome feedback, contribute to building positive team spirit; put success of team above own interests.
- Willingness to perform any and all duties as assigned by leadership to support the team; respectful attitude and professional approach to leadership decisions.

| Required Skills & Physical Demands |
- Demonstrated experience working with mechanical systems, including the use of hand and power tools. Ability to safely and effectively perform assembly, disassembly, adjustment, and installation of mechanical components using standard shop and field tools is required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings.
- Ability to effectively utilize computer or tablet for project forms, customer requirements and others as needed.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or part of a team.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills; ability to organize, multi-task and work under pressure; strong attention to detail.
- Goal oriented - naturally motivated to set and reach goals.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients; is objective and open to other views, welcomes feedback; able to write clear and concise service reports.
- Professional approach with unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character; Demonstrates high moral and ethical behavior.
- OSHA 30 certification a plus; otherwise, on-line OSHA training will be provided to be completed within 30 days.
- Adhere to all safety protocols at Veritas and on job sites, including but not limited to all machinery, electrical applications, and handling of raw materials.
- Forklift operator experience preferred.
- Crane operator experience preferred.
- Must have a Valid Real ID Driver’s License for domestic travel and Passport required for international travel.
- Continually required to stand and utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Frequently required to talk, hear, walk, bend, stoop, kneel or work near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or work in high places or tight spaces.
- Must be able to occasionally, or as needed, lift and or move up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to occasionally, or as needed, lift or carry shielding material to the work area or load the SmartDoor® with proper shielding material.
- Must be able to occasionally, or as needed, cut shielding material in the Veritas shop or on the job site.
- Willingness and ability to safely operate power tools and construction equipment as necessary for door installation.
- Will be accountable for assigned tools. Correct use and maintenance a must.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be used and maintained.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
