Location: Jacksonville, FL (Fabrication Facility-Imeson)

Summary Objective

Must have hands-on experience and knowledge in the industrial structural fitting, assembly, and welding industry. This includes understanding industry terminology, blueprint reading, measurements, take-offs, and job specifications to build a complete and integrated erection system.

Essential Functions

  • Safely operate and maintain a hydraulic band saw, ensuring its efficient use during production.
  • Carry out routine maintenance on the band saw and keep the saw department in proper working order.
  • Secure materials accurately on the saw table, ensuring proper alignment for cutting.
  • Calibrate saw settings, blades, and other attachments to achieve the required specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, assessing cuts and angles with precision.
  • Safely operate a crane as needed to handle and move materials.
  • Support production tasks such as material preparation, equipment setup, cleaning work areas, grinding steel base frames, and preparing welds.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks, including custodial duties, to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure timely completion of daily tasks while adhering to quality standards, safety protocols, and health regulations.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements, and maintain physical/medical qualifications to wear necessary PPE as required by OSHA standards.
  • Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This position operates out of a fabrication facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to: read a tape measure, operate hand tools, and power tools, and climb ladders.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The first shift days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Second shift days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Occasional weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
Travel is primarily not required except for local travel during the business day.

Required Education and Experience.

  • 1-year related experience or training
  • Experience operating small hand tools and power tools.
  • Basic math and language skills are required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 1-3-years’ experience operating a saw, with 1 year experience in hydraulic saw operation.
  • Some vocational technical training is desired.

Work Authorization
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
