As an Executive Project Director, you tackle complex disaster restoration projects for our clients, driving operational execution, customer trust, and strong financial outcomes across commercial mitigation, contents, reconstruction, and environmental projects.


What You Do

As an Executive Project Director (EPD) at Kustom, you oversee the planning, execution, and successful financial outcome of mitigation, contents, reconstruction, and environmental projects within your division. You are responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and completion of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, operating standards, and customer expectations. With your operational knowledge and consultative sales skills, you also develop their own local book of business, securing new projects through networking and relationship-building activities. You're successful in this role by:

Delivering Across Mitigation, Reconstruction, and Environmental Projects
  • Partnering with a team of Superintendents or Lead Technicians to ensure the successful delivery of mitigation, contents, reconstruction, and environmental projects
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, estimates, budgets, and work plans
  • Estimate, bid, and monitor the progress of water, fire, smoke, and other projects of all types and sizes
Driving Execution, Resources, and Results
  • Managing project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient utilization
  • Overseeing quality control processes and ensuring compliance with project specifications, carrier requirements, and industry standards
  • Managing project documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and audit readiness
  • Traveling as needed to inspect sites, lead meetings, and support project delivery and customer communications
Leading Stakeholder Communication and Customer Outcomes
  • Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and project team members to ensure successful project delivery
  • Providing regular progress updates to Division Leadership and key stakeholders
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients and partners to ensure customer satisfaction and secure future business
Owning Risk Management and Safety Culture
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed
  • Fostering a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, protocols, and job site expectations

You are a seasoned restoration leader who can run complex commercial projects end to end, steady the room in high-stakes customer situations, and deliver strong outcomes across mitigation and reconstruction. You bring a builder’s mindset, strong financial and operational discipline, and the ability to lead teams and subcontractors to the finish line while growing relationships and repeat work in your local market. You thrive in this role because you bring:

Industry Experience and Credentials
  • 5+ years of commercial mitigation and/or reconstruction project management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or equivalent preferred
  • Advanced Xactimate Certification (Level 3) preferred or equivalent combination of education and industry experience
A Track Record of Successful Delivery and Execution
  • Proven success managing mitigation, contents, reconstruction, and environmental projects
  • Strong project planning and execution skills, including managing schedules, budgets, and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with insurance restoration repairs, estimating, and subcontractor management
Leadership, Judgment, and Customer Presence
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to stay calm and effective under pressure
  • Ability to manage emotional customer situations with professionalism, urgency, and care
  • Reliable, organized, and outcomes-driven, with the ability to prioritize and follow through
Relationship Building Skills and a Growth Mindset
  • Strong networking and business development skills, with a local book of business and ability to expand book through end users and referral sources
