Job Description
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the manager (or designee) and according to established practices, performs patient care services by performing skills and procedures necessary for providing required instruments and varying aspects of patient care before, during and after the delivery procedure. In addition, assisting the medical and nursing staff with efficient and effective departmental patient flow by maintaining records and inventories related to patient care activities.

- Completes tasks promptly and accurately, accepts assignments cooperatively and completes by agreed deadline.

- Accepts additional shifts as volume dictates.
- Demonstrates commitment to the organization by being reliable and available.
- Handles fair share of work and can be trusted to deliver desired results.
- Understands and initiates actions to assist department goals when volume increases/decreases.
- Seeks and accepts opportunities to further knowledge and skills.
- Adapts to a changing environment, job assignments, priorities and schedules. Maintains a positive attitude.
- Presents a professional image at all times; adheres to the dress code; recognizes that every encounter impacts patient/family/visitor perceptions of self and the organization.
- Initiates and improves skills through continued learning and demonstrates competence in all aspects of the job.
- Participates in opportunities for self-development including external and in-house educational offerings or in-service.
- Maintains appropriate credentials.
Education/Experience
- The level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through the completion of high school level course work. Ability to read, write, and spell.
- Fundamental understanding of medical terminology and computer skills.
- Previous Patient Care/Hospital Experience – Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech
- Heartsaver CPR
- NRP within one year of hire to position.
- Fundamental understanding of sterile technique
