General Surgery-Colorectal NP/PA-C at Emerson Hospital – Concord, Massachusetts

Under general supervision and in collaboration with the Supervising Colorectal Physician and/or General Surgery Physician the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant assesses, diagnoses, treats patients in general surgery/colorectal clinic, and assists in managing the overall clinic. Responsible for managing a wide range of outpatient duties, as well as emergency situations, while adhering to standard practices and established procedures. This position ensures quality and safe delivery of care to patients of all ages.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education · Completion of a master’s degree in nursing and an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program required.
• Licensure and/or Certification
• Computer skills required, ability to review and document patient care into EMR (Currently EPIC), transition to new EMR platform as may occur for hospital operations.
• Understands and is committed to maintaining highest level of confidentiality for patient care and for hospital operations.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, in collaborative settings required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, orally in person and on the phone, as well as in written communication via physical and electronic documents.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Excellent problem-solving skills required, including creativity, resourcefulness, timeliness, and technical knowledge related to analyzing and resolving medical and operational problems.

Experience: Experience 3+ years’ experience in colorectal, general surgery, oncology, gastroenterology or related field.

• Licensure and/or Certification:

• Current license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Massachusetts required.
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required (this is required for Massachusetts licensure). (ARNP) or (PA-C)
• BLS healthcare provider required.
