FSE/BMET 2 at ERD, LLC – Sacramento, California

At ERD, our Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) play a critical role in keeping healthcare environments safe, operational, and ready to serve patients.

As a BMET II / Field Service Technician, you will serve as a key technical resource supporting hospitals, surgical centers, and clinical facilities across the region. This is a field-based role where no two days are the same. You’ll independently perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installations across a wide range of medical devices.

This position is ideal for a technician who is self-directed, highly dependable, and confident in their technical abilities, with a strong desire to continue growing in a fast-paced, real-world environment.

At ERD, you won’t be confined to a single site, you’ll work across multiple facilities, solving complex problems on equipment that directly impacts patient care. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
• 2+ years of experience in biomedical equipment, field service, or related technical repair environment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems
• Experience performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clinical staff and stakeholders
• Comfortable working across multiple facilities and adapting to different environments
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage service documentation and priorities
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and meet hospital credentialing requirements

This role involves working in a variety of healthcare environments, including hospitals, surgical centers, and clinical facilities. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to:

• Mechanical and electrical systems
• Moderate noise levels and equipment vibration
• Variable temperatures and conditions
• Clinical environments where proper PPE is required

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to work in tight or confined spaces when necessary
• Manual dexterity to operate tools and test equipment
