About This Position
At ERD, our Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) play a critical role in keeping healthcare environments safe, operational, and ready to serve patients.
As a BMET II / Field Service Technician, you will serve as a key technical resource supporting hospitals, surgical centers, and clinical facilities across the region. This is a field-based role where no two days are the same. You’ll independently perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installations across a wide range of medical devices.
This position is ideal for a technician who is self-directed, highly dependable, and confident in their technical abilities, with a strong desire to continue growing in a fast-paced, real-world environment.
At ERD, you won’t be confined to a single site, you’ll work across multiple facilities, solving complex problems on equipment that directly impacts patient care. You’ll gain deep experience with specialized systems, including those used in surgical suites and sterile processing departments, while continuing to expand your technical expertise and customer relationships.

Requirements: Job Requirements (BMET II / Field Service Technician)- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- 2+ years of experience in biomedical equipment, field service, or related technical repair environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems
- Experience performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clinical staff and stakeholders
- Comfortable working across multiple facilities and adapting to different environments
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage service documentation and priorities
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and meet hospital credentialing requirements
This role involves working in a variety of healthcare environments, including hospitals, surgical centers, and clinical facilities. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to:
- Mechanical and electrical systems
- Moderate noise levels and equipment vibration
- Variable temperatures and conditions
- Clinical environments where proper PPE is required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in tight or confined spaces when necessary
- Manual dexterity to operate tools and test equipment
