Med-Medicine - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26002177)
Provides advice and guidance on all phases of human resources, serves as a consultant to people managers and unit leadership, and manages recruitment strategy and coordinates the interview process. Facilitates trainings, provides strategic planning and budgeting guidance, and performs complex data analysis for senior management.
Essential Functions
-Coordinate and manage all employment-based visa processing for Faculty, Staff, Post-doctoral Associate and Scholars, and Visiting Scholars within the Department of Medicine, including initial requests, extensions, transers, and amendments.
- Collect, review and verify required immigration documentation, and submit complete and accurate visa materials to the Office of International Services (OIS) in compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate appointment, reappointment, and personnel processes for Post-doctoral Associates and Scholars, ensuring accuracy in university systems and compliance with institutional guidelines.
-Coordinates termination and non-renewal processes for Post-doctoral Associates and Scholars, serving as a liaison between the Office of Academic Career Development (OACD), division administration, and PIs on performance-related matters.
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain reports related to visa activity, international hires, and related budgetary impacts, and provide data & reporting as requested by department leadership.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders through written correspondence, telephone, and meetings to ensure timely completion of HR, visa and appointment-related processes.
Physical Effort
The position is primarily sedentary in nature, requiring extended periods of time spent working at a computer, including continuous viewing of a computer monitor and use of standard office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, telephone, and video conferencing technology. The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate through written correspondence (email), telephone conversations, and participation in virtual and inperson meetings. Minimal physical exertion is required; however, the role may involve occasional movement within an office setting, including attending meetings.
