About the Role

Ariva Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Accountant to support its accounting and financial operations in Laredo, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably within the construction or real estate industry, and the ability to manage financial records, monitor project costs, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and perform general accounting duties.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
• Monitor construction project expenses, budgets, and cost allocations.
• Review invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Assist with job costing and project-related financial reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and maintain accurate financial information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Previous experience in commercial construction, real estate, or project-based accounting is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
• Knowledge of job costing, project expenses, and construction accounting is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
