About This Position
Jeffrey Mansion Preschool is a small, community-oriented preschool for children aged 3-5 and is a part of our Recreation and Parks department. As an AM/PM Preschool Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. This position is part-time and perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic about early childhood education.
- Supervision: Provide a safe and supportive environment by closely supervising children during playtime, snack time, and other activities.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and colleagues regarding children's development and any concerns.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a well-organized, clean, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Minimum of a high school diploma; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for teaching and nurturing young children.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to pass an FBI/BCI background check.

State licensing requirements and standards for early childhood programs, including background check and certification processes.
Skilled in:
Communicating effectively with children, parents, and colleagues, including active listening and conflict resolution.
Organizing classroom materials, routines, and physical space to create a structured, engaging learning environment.
Observing and documenting children’s behavior, progress, and developmental milestones.
Managing time efficiently to support smooth transitions between classroom activities.
Administering First Aid and CPR in case of emergencies.
Ability to:
Supervise children attentively and ensure their safety in both classroom and outdoor environments.
Engage children in interactive, age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
Collaborate effectively with co-teachers and staff to support a positive and cohesive learning environment.
Adapt to the changing needs of a preschool classroom and respond calmly to challenging situations.
Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when handling sensitive information related to children and families.
