About This Position
The Town of Merrimack Fire & Rescue Department is seeking qualified Firefighter AEMTs and Firefighter Paramedics. The Department currently has program that pays for and assists with attaining Paramedic Certification after 1 year of service for qualified employees. This posting is to fill current openings and/or create an eligibility list for future openings.
Current Wage Scale (rates shown are /hr. and base rate):

Top of Firefighter wage scale at 12 Months. Hourly incentives are paid, and tuition reimbursement is available, after successful probationary period. Full list of incentives are listed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

HS Diploma or GED. Minimum Certification AEMT (Paramedic preferred). Certified Firefighter I with Firefighter II prior to 1 year of employment, Hazardous Materials Operations, current successful completion of State of NH Fire Entrance examination- CPAT or FT Firefighter in another NH Department, Associates Degree in Fire Science or related field preferred, Demonstrated oral and written communications skills.
