About This Position
<span style="color: inherit;">The Town of Merrimack Fire & Rescue Department is accepting applications to fill a current opening and to create an Eligibility List for the positions of Firefighter EMT, Firefighter AEMT, and Firefighter Paramedic. </span><br><br><span style="color: inherit;">A Firefighter (EMT/AEMT/Paramedic) shall be responsible for the efficient performance of required duties in conformance with the rules, regulations, and policies contained in the manual of department operations. </span><span style="color: inherit;">Provides firefighting, rescue, EMS, and other life saving services to the community working as a member of a company or team. Assigned to specific apparatus as needed including engine, ladder, rescue, or ambulance. </span>
Working knowledge of all phases of fire department and emergency management operations, tactics and strategy incident command, technical rescue, leadership and communications skills. Knowledge of personal computers and Windows based operating systems and software programs including Word. Knowledge of all applicable laws, codes, standards and ALS medical protocols. Ability to establish and maintain effective and positive relations with all personnel in the department, public officials, and the public. Ability to function as a team player.
Valid NH Drivers license (CDL preferred), Nationally Registered EMT, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic, Certified Firefighter Level II (prior to 1 year of employment), certified Hazardous Materials Operations, and successful completion of State of NH Fire Entrance examination, CPAT.
