JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
- Job Summary:
  - Responsible for performing clerical, administrative and clinical duties primarily assisting physician with patient care, examining and treating patients and/or in-office procedures.
- Education:
  - High School diploma required; some college preferred
- Registration/Certification/Licensure:
  - Medical Assistant Certification required; CCMA, RMA, CMA, EMT or equivalent obtained within one year of employment.
  - Active Basic Life Support certification required
  - Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Experience:
  - Position requires 1 - 2 years of medical office/direct patient contact experience and use of electronic medical records preferred. New grads accepted.
  - Basic computer and typing skills required
  - Familiarity with medical terminology required.
- Other Requirements:
  - Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
  - Must demonstrate compassion, friendliness, courtesy and tactfulness with all patient interactions. Requires ability to communicate well both written and verbally. Must be able to work well in a fast-paced setting with a team of providers, office staff, administrators while serving patients and caregivers. Must be efficient and conscientious in preparing for and delivering medical care; must be able to adapt to specialty and practice settings across the medical group. Requires an awareness of patient confidentiality and ability to follow directions well, be engaged and work with minimal guidance. Ability to perform phlebotomy and point of care testing required.
