About This Position
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for the planning, provision, and allocation of functional resources necessary to carry out the day-to-day operations of the hospital/medical center. Provides leadership of financial, operational, and service performance, as well as, organizational culture and physician, board, and community relations. Establishes appropriate performance standards, qualifications and expectations of the facility in collaboration with Bryan Health.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
- *Oversees all operations including formulation of organizational goals, action plans, and programs in alignment with the strategic plan, mission, vision, and brand standards; ensures goals, plans, and programs are properly executed and the Board of Trustees updated on the progress monthly.
- *Oversees the organization’s preparation and readiness for all regulatory surveys, assuring that all entities are in compliance to successfully meet the standards of these agencies.
- *Collaborates with Director of Revenue Cycle to ensure fiscal management, budgeting, and integrity of all interim reporting provided to the Board of Trustees.
- *Collaborates with the appropriate leadership and teams to ensure the quality initiatives are achieved in the hospital.
- *Collaborates and proactively communicates with the physicians group on the activities of the hospital.
- *Ensures the image of the facility is portrayed in a positive and progressive way to stimulate community engagement and loyalty to the facility’s services and fundraising activities.
- *Leads the facility on its journey of excellence including implementation, competencies, and hardwiring of organizational culture and service excellence initiatives.
- Ensures the service performance throughout the continuum of care including pre- and post-patient relations.
- Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the senior leaders and managers to help them achieve organizational goals.
- Leads the senior leadership team to meet the needs of the staff through employee engagement action planning and other activities to improve employee engagement within the work environment.
- Works with senior leadership team to meet the recruitment and retention needs of the organization.
- Works closely with the medical staff, including its elected leadership and all other physicians.
- Collaborates on physician recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Works closely with the Board of Trustees and Medical Staff in developing the strategic plan for the organization.
- Collaborates and guides the Board of Trustees; provides support to the governing boards, including their officers and committees.
- Serves as liaison to the community on behalf of hospital/medical center and Bryan Health.
- Builds relationships with key constituent groups including economic development group, chamber of commerce, business community, school system, other community health care providers, public health department, etc.
- Serves as the organization’s liaison with the County Commissioners and City Manager including a quarterly in person report to the County Commissioners in conjuction with the Chief Executive Officer.
- Serves as the organization’s liaison to Bryan Health including coordinating and synchronizing services, communication, programs, and specialty physician relationships on an ongoing basis.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
- Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of organizational and human resource management standards and practices.
- Knowledge of ongoing healthcare trends.
- Knowledge of performance improvement, budgetary and financial methods and practices.
- Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
- Knowledge of management and leadership principles and practices.
- Knowledge of the cost report and regulations governing critical access hospitals and rural health clinics.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a health related field or business required. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of five (5) years progressive work experience as a member of senior leadership. Past CEO, COO, CFO, or CNO experience preferred.
