Maintenance Technician 2 - Abe's Place at Gateway Rehabilitation Center – Aliquippa, Pennsylvania

Gateway Rehabilitation Center (GRC) in Center Township, PA is looking for a Maintenance Technician who will provide general maintenance services. You will be responsible for maintaining the buildings and equipment at the center.

Responsibilities

• Completes building preventive maintenance including lighting and plumbing.
• Paints areas of the building.
• Completes preventive maintenance and repairs of heating and air conditioning systems.
• Performs electrical wiring.
• Makes any necessary repairs when needed.
• Repairs and inspects boilers, pumps, and valves.
• Regularly visits Outpatient offices for maintenance needs.
• Performs monthly environmental rounds.
• Acts as Safety Officer for the building.
• Completes preventive maintenance record keeping monthly.
• Full aspect of remodeling: hang and finish dry wall; painting; ceiling replacement.
• Drives GRC vehicles as necessary.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to safely and effectively maintain and operate, boiler equipment, tractors, lawn mowers, snow throwers, and hand tools.
• Skilled at using light hand tools.
• Skilled at painting.
• Knowledge of doing general repairs to walls, etc.

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.

Preferred Requirements

• Four years building maintenance experience preferred.
• Trade School.

Additional Requirements

• Pass PA Criminal Background Check
• Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting clearances
• Pass Drug Screen
• 2-Step TB Test
• Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record

Work Conditions

• Substance use disorder treatment center.
• Working conditions include exposure to noise and inclement weather.
• Significant physical demands include the lifting of 50 pounds or more using body mechanics safety techniques.
• Mental demands include quick decisions and responses in emergencies and adherence to a schedule which is frequently interrupted.
