Teacher I Child Care Center at Hunterdon Health Care System – Flemington, New Jersey

Work with a team of teachers, assistant teachers, teacher aides and volunteers to foster a safe and nurturing learning environment for children ages 0-4.

1. Demonstrates ability to manage and supervise a classroom environment.
2. Creates and implements stimulating and age-appropriate curriculum for children.
3. Supervises and guides children in safe play both indoors and outdoors.
4. Maintains a clean environment and ensures all surfaces and toys are disinfected.
5. Assist children with feeding, toileting, proper diaper changing requirements and personal care as appropriate.

Minimum Education:

Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Required:

Maintains the annual continuing education hour requirements in the designated fields of study as mandated by the Division of Children & Families’ Office of Licensing.

Preferred:

1 – 3 years of Early Childhood Care Center

License, Registry or Certification:

Required:

Maintains Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification upon hire, Obtains CARI & CHRI clearance

Preferred:

None

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

Required:

• Ability to research, develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans based on monthly thematic units.
• Ability to assess children given the necessary assessment tool.
• Ability to discuss assessments in a developmental approach with parents.
• Available for teacher conferences and teacher meetings.
