Job Summary:

QA/QC Engineer is responsible for overseeing all on-site activities related to the construction, commissioning, and initial operation of utility-scale Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role ensures that the work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing the roadmap that outlines how quality will be monitored throughout the project life cycle
  • Site Inspections: Physically verifying that components (racking, panels, transformers) are installed correctly.
  • Compiling the final "Quality Book" required for the plant to begin commercial operation.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring all construction activities are executed efficiently and safely.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, EPC contractors, and site personnel.
  • Monitor project progress against the schedule and resolve issues that may cause delays.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure quality control measures are enforced.
  • Interface with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure alignment between design and execution.
  • Manage logistics and on-site material deliveries.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Support commissioning activities and performance testing.
  • Ensure that project documentation, permits, and approvals are maintained and up to date.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client representatives, inspectors, and local authorities on site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or relevant STEM field).
  • 5+ years of experience in utility-scale projects, preferably solar and/or BESS project execution.
  • Knowledge of PV modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and BESS technologies is an asset.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Spanish is a plus (optional based on location).
  • Familiarity with OSHA or other relevant safety standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to work on remote job sites and adapt to site-specific conditions.
  • Available to work at the weekends and to travel

Each pay period, for every $1 of eligible compensation employee contributes to the Plan, the company will match that dollar at 100% up to the first 1% of eligible compensation employee contributes plus company will match 50% for each $1 of eligible compensation on the next 5% of eligible compensation.
  • PTO: During the first partial calendar year of employment and the first five (5) full calendar years, you accrue up to 15 working days of paid time off annually. After completing five (5) full calendar years of employment you will accrue up to 20 working days of paid time off per year.
  • Employees receive five (5) paid sick days (40 hours) at the time of hire and then five (5) paid sick days (40 hours) each year thereafter on January 1.
  • 2 days floating holidays
  • Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day (Washington’s Birthday), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
