This role serves as a key member of the building leadership team, supporting instructional excellence, student culture, daily operations, and the development of a comprehensive and competitive athletics program.
In this role, you will inspire staff and students by championing high-quality instruction, including our problem-based learning (PBL) model, while supporting the intellectual, physical, and personal development of every student. The Secondary Dean / Athletic Director works closely with the Principal to ensure a safe, positive, and achievement-focused learning environment, both in the classroom and through extracurricular athletics.
This position emphasizes student behavior systems, staff support, family communication, athletic program leadership, and the consistent implementation of school-wide expectations aligned with our mission and core values.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Culture and AccountabilityLead implementation of secondary student behavior systems and discipline procedures.Promote restorative practices and character development.Analyze discipline and attendance data to support continuous improvement.Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and administrators to support student well-being and academic success.Instructional and Staff SupportSupport teachers in establishing strong classroom management systems.Partner with instructional leaders to maintain high academic and behavioral expectations.Assist in supervision and evaluation processes as assigned.Athletics Leadership and Program ManagementOversee and develop the school’s athletic programs, ensuring alignment with school values and student development goals.Supervise, support, and evaluate coaches and athletic staff.Ensure compliance with CHSAA rules, district policies, and safety standards.Coordinate athletic schedules, facilities usage, transportation, and event management.Promote student participation, sportsmanship, and academic accountability among student-athletes.Manage athletic budgets, equipment, and program resources.Serve as the primary liaison for athletics with families, officials, and community partners.Family and Community EngagementServe as a primary contact for family communication related to student conduct and accountability.Facilitate meetings with students and families to support academic and behavioral improvement plans.Communicate regularly with families regarding athletic programs, expectations, and student participation.Strengthen partnerships with families and community stakeholders.Operations and ComplianceAssist with daily operations including supervision schedules, extracurricular oversight, safety procedures, and event management.Ensure compliance with district and state regulations related to student conduct, safety, and athletics.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to discipline, attendance, and athletic eligibility.Qualifications RequiredMaster’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field preferred.Valid Colorado administrator license preferred.Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience at the secondary level.Strong understanding of adolescent development and restorative discipline practices.Demonstrated ability to analyze data and implement systems for improvement.PreferredExperience in athletic program leadership or coaching at the secondary level.Experience supporting secondary master scheduling or student services systems.Experience with Google Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS).Essential Physical RequirementsOccasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.Ability to move quickly throughout the building, campus, and athletic facilities.Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and sitting.Essential Physical RequirementsOccasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.Ability to move quickly throughout the building and campus.Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and sitting.ScheduleMonday to FridaySchool Year: 2026–2027This position will remain open until filled, but will not be open past: May 31, 2026
