Reports To:
- Analyzes, configures, tests, implements and supports clinical information systems used in the delivery of patient care across the organization.
- Manages ongoing maintenance and support of the clinical information systems and associated applications.
- Works closely with Information Technology and vendors in research and coordination of new or updating systems.
- Analyzes the impact of decisions in clinical application processes and Hospital business process.
- Builds, tests and maintains clinical components of healthcare systems, coordinates and oversees clinical enhancements, product updates and upgrades.
- Support includes directing, planning, development, maintenance, documentation, and operation of computer software and networking systems.
- Assists with troubleshooting, testing and validating the integrity of medical data, assisting in compliance with privacy regulations and quality reporting.
- Acts as a liaison and resource for medical staff in the usage of the clinical information systems.
- Maintains partnership in onboarding and initial systems training for new providers.
- Collaborates with members of the patient care teams to optimize clinical systems functions while supporting patient care.

Director of IT/CIO
Clinical Systems Analysts play a key role in identifying the systems needs for Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Working with others, they determine what is required for future growth and efficiency and make recommendations on software to optimize or purchase.

Education
-
Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree. Advanced degree highly desirable.

Registered Nurse highly preferred or other registered clinical staff. EMR/Meditech implementations or support experience highly desirable.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.
Highly proficient in the use of Clinical systems -- Meditech experience highly desirable.

Valid driver's license required.
Must be able to communicate effectively with IT peers, clinical staff and other hospital departments to deliver support and solutions to issues based on our policies, protocols, and end user needs. Must have clinical experience, aptitude and willingness to become familiar with information technology. Must understand the workflow within a healthcare organization and be able to complete workflow analysis, design, build, test and implement solutions. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to respond in a timely manner, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks and projects as necessary.
