Location: Berean Baptist Church – Burnsville, MN
Schedule: 40 hours per week (Full-time)
Reports to: Communications Director
Position Summary
The Ministry Media Specialist creates digital media that communicates the mission, ministries, and culture of Berean. This includes social media content, video storytelling, photography, and support for weekly livestream production.
This role blends creative storytelling, technical media skills, and project coordination. The ideal candidate can capture meaningful ministry moments, produce compelling visual content, and support reliable Sunday media execution. Workload and priorities will be managed collaboratively with the Communications Director to ensure this role remains focused, sustainable, and aligned with ministry goals.
Because this position shapes how Berean communicates the gospel publicly, the candidate must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with Berean’s doctrine, values, and ministry philosophy.

The Ministry Media Specialist plays a key role in helping Berean communicate our faith, ministry, and mission with clarity, creativity, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Digital Content (Primary)
- Develop and execute social media content that reflects Berean’s mission and ministry priorities.
- Create, schedule, and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms.
- Write captions and messaging aligned with Berean’s voice, theology, and ministry tone.
- Capture and edit short-form video content (reels, clips, highlights).
- Capture photography showcasing church life, events, and worship gatherings.
- Curate, edit, and manage photo assets for use across digital channels.
- Monitor engagement and optimize content using analytics and performance insights.
- Assist with website media updates and content integration.
- Coordinate media requests from ministries and ensure timelines align with Communications workflow.
- Collaborate with ministry leaders to maintain consistency in communication and messaging.
- Recruit, coordinate, and provide basic training for volunteer photographers and videographers.
Video Production & Livestream Support (Secondary)
- Lead video storytelling for testimonies, ministry highlights, event promotions, and campaigns.
- Film and edit high-quality video content for weekend services and online channels.
- Produce sermon bumpers, announcement videos, and ministry spotlights.
- Support livestream production for Sunday services and special events.
- Assist with camera operation, switching, and media elements in the livestream environment.
- Ensure all media reflects Berean’s theological convictions and communication standards.
- Maintain and organize the church’s digital media library.
- Oversee the video studio space and equipment readiness
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in digital media, video production, photography, or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in video editing software (Adobe, CapCut, etc).
- Working knowledge of photography composition, lighting, and editing.
- Experience managing social media for an organization or brand.
- Familiarity with livestream production workflows and streaming platforms.
- Strong visual storytelling instincts.
- Ability to capture both planned and candid ministry moments.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience recruiting, coordinating, or training volunteer creative teams.
- Experience in church, nonprofit, or ministry communication environments.
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe, and Trello.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Faith & Ministry Alignment
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a growing Christian faith.
- Agreement with Berean Baptist Church’s doctrinal beliefs and mission.
- Willing to pursue and attain membership at Berean
- Ability to communicate ministry messaging in ways that are biblically faithful and theologically sound.
- Commitment to support the mission, vision, leadership, and culture of Berean.
- Passion for using media and communication to serve the work of the local church.
Work Environment
- Full-time, hybrid role.
- Weekly Sunday morning availability required for coverage and/or production support.
- Occasional evening or special-event coverage, as scheduled.
- Collaborative, team-oriented environment with a focus on supporting ministry needs.
