Role SummaryAt the Museum of Sex the Retail Sales Supervisor supports the award-winning retail store, which carries “best-of” products, and is known as a trusted destination for all things sexual wellness and fun. The Supervisor will work closely with the entire Retail Team to ensure that sales goals are achieved through training, promotions, floor merchandising, and guest engagements. Primary Job ResponsibilitiesBe an example of guest service excellence for the Associates and all team memberss Must be able to lead the retail sales team by example by consistently providing guest excellence standards and efficient sales techniques Manage a team of Associates, Retail Sales, by regularly communicating and monitoring sales performance, as well as motivating the team to achieve business goals Ability to use various techniques to continually drive sales to deliver against overall retail business goals (ie. add-ons, promo’s, etc) Responsible for opening and closing the Retail Store, which includes, but is not limited to, cash handling, setting alarms, and sending daily recap emails Must be able to partake in the Museum’s Manager on Duty (MOD) program Maintain appearance and functionality of all areas within the Retail Store Support the Manager, Retail with sales reports and programming Manage the Associates schedules, ensuring that labor hours remain in budget Facilitate internal communication such as promotions, policy changes, etc. Perform additional duties as assigned Employee Qualifications Have a background in retail operations or sales Excellent management and supervisory skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to learn PO and Vendor Management Systems Ability to learn POS systems (RetailPro) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software Multilingual is a plus! Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check, conducted after an offer has been accepted and prior to the start date.Physical Demands / Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment described in this job description is representative of those that the employee will encounter and are expected to meet to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Able to move from place to place which may include standing and/or walking for extended periods of time; lift and carry up to 30 pounds short distances Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, talk, listen, and use hands to lift boxes and equipment. The work environment is an indoor, climate-controlled public area of assembly. The noise level varies throughout the venue, some areas are very quiet while others contain reasonably high noise levels. There is ample lighting throughout the venue. There are no hazards and no protective devices worn or used in the office work environment.
