About This Position
Job SummaryThe Wellness Assistant supports clinical operations within skilled nursing and long-term care facilities by conducting routine patient wellness assessments, assisting with approved clinical procedures, and supporting the Nurse Practitioner and other healthcare providers. This role plays an important part in ensuring accurate data collection, patient safety, and compliance with facility, company, and regulatory standards. Comprehensive training is provided.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform and accurately document daily vital signs for patients, including blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, temperature, and weight.Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sanitization of all medical equipment in accordance with company policies, facility protocols, and infection control standards.Perform approved clinical and wellness procedures, including but not limited to:Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS)Spirometry testingSix-Minute Walk TestAdditional wellness and diagnostic procedures as assignedAssist the Nurse Practitioner and healthcare providers during patient evaluations, procedures, and facility rounds as needed.Accurately document all assessments, procedures, and observations in designated systems within required timeframes.Adhere to all HIPAA, safety, and infection control policies and guidelines.Maintain professional and effective communication with facility staff, clinical leadership, and care teams.Promptly report abnormal findings, changes in patient condition, or concerns to the supervising provider or Nurse Practitioner.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Prior healthcare experience preferred (e.g., CNA, Medical Assistant, Wellness Assistant, or similar role).Ability to work effectively in skilled nursing or long-term care settings.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established clinical protocols.Comfort interacting with elderly, chronically ill, or medically complex patients.Basic computer proficiency and documentation skills.Training & DevelopmentComprehensive training provided for all clinical and wellness procedures, including POCUS ultrasound, spirometry, and wellness testing.Ongoing education, skills validation, and competency assessments as required.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods of time.Ability to lift, carry, and transport medical equipment as needed.Ability to assist patients with mobility testing and basic physical assessments when required.Work EnvironmentSkilled nursing facilities and long-term care environments.Direct patient contact in a clinical healthcare setting.BenefitsCompany contribution of 50% toward employee health, dental, and vision insurance premiums.Supplemental health benefits, including life insurance.Comprehensive paid time off (PTO) package.Seven (7) paid company holidays.
