About This Position
SUMMARY: The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall information technology strategy and operations for the health system. This role ensures the secure, efficient, and compliant operation of all information technology supporting clinical, financial, and operational functions. The Director of IT will lead initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery through technology, including electronic health records (EHR), telehealth platforms, cybersecurity programs, data analytics, and infrastructure management. The position plays a critical role in improving patient access, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across the health system.
BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards as they appear in Dynamic Health and Healthstream Policy Manager.
Required to work with the VP, Chief Financial Officer regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Information Technology Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics or related field required. Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or Business Administration preferred.
Experience: 5-7 years of progressive IT leadership experience, 5+ years of healthcare IT experience required, experience in rural health systems, critical access hospitals, or multi-site healthcare organizations preferred.
Certification: CHCIO (Certified Healthcare CIO), CISSP (Cybersecurity), PMP (Project Management) and/or ITIL certification preferred.

Work Environment
This position operates in a healthcare environment supporting hospitals, surgery centers, clinics, and community outreach programs. Occasional travel between facilities may be required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a healthcare setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Work schedule is typically 5 days a week, Monday – Friday, work hours may exceed 40 hours per week. Required to respond after hours, on weekends and during inclement weather due to emergent situations.
