Role Overview:As an Energy Consultant, you will be responsible for engaging with potential customers, educating them on the benefits of solar, and guiding them through the process of switching to renewable energy. Your role is pivotal in helping homeowners and businesses reduce their energy costs while increasing energy independence.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead Engagement & Consultation: Reach out to potential customers through inbound leads, referrals, and self-generated opportunities.
- Customer Education: Conduct in-home, virtual, or on-site consultations to explain the benefits of solar energy, available incentives, and financing options.
- Sales & Goal Achievement: Meet and exceed sales targets by effectively presenting and selling SEP’s tailored solar solutions.
- Proposal Development: Use industry-leading design tools to create customized solar proposals that meet customer energy needs and budget.
- Pipeline Management: Utilize CRM tools to track leads, follow-ups, and sales progress while maintaining organized records.
- Door-to-Door & Event Canvassing: Engage with homeowners in communities where installations are taking place and attend events to generate new business.
- Collaboration with Operations Team: Ensure a smooth customer experience from signed contract to installation by working closely with project managers and support teams.
- Industry & Product Knowledge: Stay up to date with local utility policies, incentives, and advancements in solar technology to provide expert advice to customers.
- Prior experience in sales, solar, or home improvement industries preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Goal-oriented and self-motivated with a drive to succeed.
- Ability to manage multiple customer interactions and sales processes simultaneously.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate customer availability.
- Basic proficiency in CRM systems and sales tracking tools is a plus.
