About This Position
Lead the team at Easterday Recreation Center, a longstanding member of the northeast Lincoln Community. This talented and dedicated team organizes a variety of activities, camps, sports, and events for the community. They strive to promote the Center’s mission to offer engaging recreation programs, particularly for individuals with developmental disabilities, mental and physical health needs or experiencing social isolation.
In this leadership role, you will guide the professional staff; recruit, hire, train, and supervise support staff and volunteers; develop, implement, and oversee programs; manage budgets; serve as the Head of Delegation for the Shooting Stars Special Olympics. The Shooting Stars is a large Special Olympics team participating in ten different sports with practices, games, and regional tournaments. A cadre of paid and volunteer coaches lead the participants to personal and team growth and success.

Hours: Full Time M-F, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekends for events and Special Olympics.
Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by college-level coursework in recreation, physical education or related field plus four years of experience related to supervising the delivery of recreational programs; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills

Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements
Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by college-level coursework in recreation, physical education or related field plus six months of experience working with people of all age groups in a recreational setting involving program and staff supervision; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
