About This Position

Facilities Crew Technician - North Bay - Electrician/Diesel

Location: North Bay, ON

Type: 12 Month Term, 7 x 24 schedule, 40 hrs a week

Nasittuq Corporation operates and maintains the North Warning System (NWS), a critical joint Canada-US radar network with 47 sites across Northern Canada. What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in maintaining NWS systems, including power generation, diesel engines, electrical distribution, HVAC systems, water & sewage systems, intrusion alarms, fire alarm/suppression systems, helicopter monitors, and SCADA systems.
  • Monitor the status of and remotely control NWS site equipment, analyze system faults, and adjust equipment parameters as needed.
  • Liaise with 22 Wing System Maintenance (SM) to coordinate system downtime and verify operational status post-maintenance.
  • Respond to requests from NWSO and 22 Wing on NWS operations and maintenance activities.
  • Review corrective maintenance work requests and ensure accurate completion of work orders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on communications equipment and provide guidance to customer personnel.
  • Track diesel engine performance, monitor overhauls, and recommend performance improvements.
  • Conduct environmental, safety, and quality checks, and maintain a safe workplace.

Who You Are:

Credentials:

  • Completion of a post-secondary program in electromechanical systems or CF military equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in a commercial or industrial setting.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of building electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
  • Proficiency with tools and commercial test equipment used in troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Maximo.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to meet 7x24 shift work requirements.
  • Level II (Secret) Clearance or eligibility to obtain one is mandatory.
