The Role:

Responsible for repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic components to ensure ongoing, cost-effective operations, in a multi shift environment. Assist with capital and maintenance projects.

What you get to do:

  • Design, install, and maintain production control systems and PLC equipment
  • Troubleshoots and develops upgrades to electrical/electronic systems and programs PLC's
  • Assist Eng. Manager and Maintenance with projects and equipment upgrades
  • Assign and review work of industrial electricians
  • Train mechanics in electronic controls
  • Purchase equipment and supplies
  • Assisting equipment operators to improve line efficiency through training
  • On call evenings and weekends Provide technical "expert" level capability to plant/corporate operations
  • Set priorities and assigns work to electricians
  • Design or select control systems
  • Select suppliers of maintenance equipment and services and issues purchase orders.
  • Repair, upgrade or replace electronic components as required
  • Establish safe and efficient courses of action in dealing with processing equipment emergencies and repairs.
  • Analyze existing processing systems and make recommendations for upgrading while keeping in mind safety, quality, budget and impact on production requirements.
  • Assist in establishing electrical standards and policies
  • Establish electrical P/M procedure

What you bring to the role:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent required
  • Valid Ontario Electrical License (309A) required
  • Completion of a recognized electrical trades apprenticeship program
  • Strong attention to detail with solid organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple issues simultaneously
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively
  • Strong electronic, mechanical, and analytical aptitude
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Ability to understand and work with electrical systems and control programs
  • Physically able to perform job requirements, including frequent bending and lifting of heavy equipment
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure and in fast‑paced environments
  • Willingness to collaborate and work within a team‑based environment
  • Computer literate with the ability to use maintenance and diagnostic systems
