Maintenance Tech in Archbold, Ohio at Napoleon Spring Works, Inc

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Our facility manufactures garage door components using equipment including spring winders, presses, roll forming machines, benders, and other metal-forming and production machinery. Candidates with previous experience maintaining this type of equipment, or similar industrial manufacturing machinery, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery and facility equipment.
• Maintain and repair spring winding equipment, presses, roll formers, benders, motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, and related components.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose basic industrial electrical issues, including motors, switches, sensors, relays, and control systems.
• Perform machine adjustments, change components, and assist with equipment setups as needed.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and work efficiently to minimize production downtime.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend long-term corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Maintain an organized inventory of commonly used maintenance parts and supplies.
• Assist with installation, relocation, and modification of production equipment.
• Perform basic welding, fabrication, cutting, drilling, and machining when necessary.
• Follow OSHA requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company safety policies.
• Work closely with production supervisors and operators to identify equipment concerns before they result in major downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance work area.

• Previous industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, millwright, machine repair, or related experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience working with metal-forming equipment, spring winders, roll formers, presses, or bending equipment is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Basic to intermediate industrial electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, manuals, and equipment documentation.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment safely.
• Strong attention to safety and equipment reliability.
